Week 6: Design Revisions and CAD work

During week 6, Project Megaclimb members continued to work on the CAD design. Some design revisions included the use of custom patters on the mounting plates and the addition of telescopic extenders in order to move the mechanism up and down.

Along with a revised tread mechanism, the bottom electronics plate was also made in CAD. The plate is mounted underneath the seat of the wheelchair, and will house various electronics such as the battery and a breakout board. In order for the battery to stay put during use, a holster was designed. A slide and pins will enable the plate to attach to a commercial wheelchair

Moreover, the group also started work on the Final project report and concluded their calculations after determining that the speed of the wheelchair must be lower than the 0.75 m/s initially planned for better safety and comfort
